Pallas was born after Hurricane Ike pulverized the
Texas Gulf Coast, with many thanks to Greg and Kathy Smith, who not only provided a fully equipped whelping room at their
home in Lafayette, Louisiana, but helped with the delivery and care of Pallas and her littermates until it was safe to take them back home to Houston.
Pallas had her show ring debut in the 6-9 month puppy class at
the Galveston County Kennel Club show on March 15, 2009, at exactly six months of age (see photo below), and she is the first
dog of our breeding that Charles has ever shown. Judge Elaine Young was very complimentary and added that she thought
Pallas was a "stylish" Westie girl. At seven months of age, Pallas won her first point from the 6-9 month
puppy class at the Beaumont Kennel Club show on Saturday, April 25, 2009, under Judge David Harris. Pallas then went
on to win a Puppy Terrier Group Two under Judge Gloria Geringer. At the Acadiana and Baton Rouge Kennel Club shows in
Lafayette, Louisiana, the end of May 2009, Pallas was awarded Best Puppy and Puppy Terrier Group Two under Judge Sandra Olsen
on Saturday, then earned another point toward her championship from the Bred-by class on Sunday under Judge Gloria L. Geringer.
Pallas again was Best Puppy at the Calcasieu Kennel Club show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on June 6, 2009, and won the
Puppy Terrier Group under esteemed Judge Edd E. Bivin. At the West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeast Texas
Specialty/Sweepstakes event in July 2009, Pallas won Best In Sweepstakes under Breeder/Judge Lori Tuttle. Pallas picked
up another point going Winners Bitch/Best of Winners at the Corpus Christi Kennel Club show on August 9, 2009, under renowned
Breeder/Judge Dennis J. Kniola. She then picked up back-to-back Winners Bitch awards at the Brazoria Kennel Club shows
November 14 and 15, 2009, under Judges Michele Billings and Robert Stein. At the Lone Star State Classic in Dallas held
December 3-6, 2009, Paula showed Pallas to wins from the Bred-By-Exhibitor class three of the four days, including Winners
Bitch/Best of Winners for a major under Judge Richard Bauer at the Greater Collin Kennel Club show, leaving Pallas just one
major shy of her championship at under 15 months of age. On our trip back to the Lone Star State Classic in July 2010,
Pallas earned her final major win from the Bred-by Exhibitor class at the North Texas Terrier Club show in Dallas, Texas,
on July 8, 2010, under Judge Judy E. Thill.
Pallas was shown for the first time as a special on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Texas
Kennel Club show and was awarded Best Opposite Sex under Judge James R. White (David Harper handling), and on Sunday, July
11, 2010, Pallas won Best of Breed under Judge Kathleen J. Ferris (Adam Peterson handling), earning major win points both
days towards the AKC's new Grand Champion title. Pallas was then shown by agent Larry Cornelius in Best of
Breed competition against the top Westies in the country during the Reliant World Series of Dog Shows, July 21-25, 2010, and
won Grand Champion majors four of the five show days with Best Opposite Sex and Select Bitch wins, leaving her just
five single points shy of her Grand Champion title. Pallas earned her Grand Champion title (TullyBloom's first Grand
Champion) during her first trip with handler Klayton Harris to the northeast for the Montgomery County weekend.
Pallas was awarded Select Bitch at the Hatboro Kennel Club show in New Jersey on October 8, 2010 under Judge Kathleen
Ferris, and was awarded Select Bitch and new Grand Champion at the Devon Kennel Club show on Saturday, October 9, 2010
under Westie breeder/artist and International Judge Barbara Hands. Pallas wrapped up a memorable weekend on October
10, 2010 with an Award of Merit at the West Highland White Terrier Club of America National Specialty held in conjunction
with the Montgomery County Kennel Club Show in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, under esteemed Judge Kenneth McDermott.
She was shown as a special at select shows through year-end 2010, both placing in and winning the Terrier Group. She
ended the year 2010 as one of the Top 10 Grand Champions in the country and, without even trying, finished the year as
the #13 Westie All Breed and as the #14 Westie Breed (per AKC TopDogs Reports).
Pallas
received two invitations to the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show, first qualifying by completing her
Championship with all points Breeder/Owner/Handled by Paula with only a single point from the puppy class and all remaining
wins from the Bred-by Exhibitor Class, then qualifying a second time upon earning her Grand Champion title.
Pallas made one final show appearance with handler Klayton Harris at The Westminster Kennel Club show in New York
City on February 15, 2011, where she was awarded Best Opposite Sex by Judge Rosalind Kraus Kramer. Pallas then moved
to her retirement home with Judy and Charlie White in Houston (who also have Pallas' mother, GiGi). Pallas is being treated like royalty in her new "palace".
